Carsten Pieper Thanks to Leonardo MoonJune Pavkovic, this excellent sounding treasure from the Radio Bremen archives has finally been published. As my Bandcamp Friday rule is, to get at least one MoonJune release, here goes....
This is the Bundles line up with new members Karl Jenkins and Allan Holdsworth. Very interesting release of the ever evolving Softs! Favorite track: Song Of Aeolous.
Andy Long

Andy Long Cracking set from the Bundles line up. Holdsworth is smoking as you would expect Favorite track: Land Of The Bag Snake.
David Markfield

David Markfield Truly amazing set. Despite lineup changes and new members this is the sound of a band in its prime. Favorite track: Land Of The Bag Snake.
Peter Jones

Peter Jones Amazing stuff. Each track goes and does something equally original and yet the whole thing fits snugly together.

Bundles is a lot of fun. North Point - mad: Hazard Profile is almost "simple" after that.

There's an incredible variety of virtuosity.

Oh - and the sound quality! Lovely stuff. Favorite track: Earling Comedy.

about

This album marks the first release of a live performance by Soft Machine's "Bundles" lineup, featuring a young Allan Holdsworth on guitar. The concert was originally recorded in January of 1975, and consists mostly of the Bundles material -- which was already recorded, but still unreleased at the time. Chocked full of magical moments, this CD contains over 78 minutes of incredible music.Floating World Live documents an important transitional time for Soft Machine: in the aftermath of the departure of Robert Wyatt and Elton Dean, and the subsequent addition of Karl Jenkins, John Marshall and then (albeit, briefly) Allan Holdsworth. By virtue of the radical changes, the style and repertoire of the band changed dynamically, as this impeccably-recorded and -produced (and digitally-remastered) album reveals. Reinvigorating both the international press and their huge fanbase with the retooled lineup and repertoire, the concert was very well-received and the band was inspired and in sparkling form. This important release is truly a rare gem -- documenting an important moment in the annals of progressive music -- and an essential that is not to be missed by any fans of Soft Machine and Allan Holdsworth.
